The Green Bird of…

 BEK_logo

Our client is a private hospital in the leafy suburbs of Budapest. The challenge was to communicate the message of health and wellbeing achieved by premium services in this elegant environment through a clear but not rigid visual.

The symbol of the tree and the bird reflects on this dominant location and its atmosphere. The sign is full of action with all the curves yet it is elegant thanks to the classical typeface.

Birthday logos

Café is 10 years old! For this never-returning ocassion a new "birthday" logo has been designed! Our fresh logo arrived from a student of KREA School of Contemporary Art, Miklós Seidl. The design perfectly follows the colorful identity of Café Group. Within the Group Café Design celebrates it's 7th anniversary this year, so we greet this with an integrated logo. Cheers!

We are not afraid of Cora

Everything began with a billboard looking like a horror movie poster. This appeared in the catalogues and price indicators in the stores as well. The great countdown (with the prices) was symbolized by a price box sabered by one swish. The blood lines streaming from the "scar" refer to the EAN codes. The shockingly typical visual elements were even more highlited by the gloomy background. Nevertheless the text operating with light jokes compensated the frightening ambiance of the ad.

In the focus of the communication was the dinamic character of Cora with the frequent and "harsh" discounts beside its usual values. The campaign drove the attention to the new price policy of the hipermarket chain and its 1000 products price reduction.

The 10 flavoured Pálinka

Soltvadkert in Hungary is a place rich in natural resources as tasty fruits of the fertile soil. So what's more convenient than bottling them and offer the market a fabulous new brand: Schiszler Pálinka, as our client cleverly did so.

You don’t have to go get some tobacco for a little danger

 Cigipolo

Do you think smoking is the most harmful thing that can happen to you and your fellows? Although texts speak true on cigarette boxes, Simi says that you don’t have to go get some tobacco for a little danger, your mere existence is enough. He announces his credo on self designed T-shirts: ’I am serious hazard to me and my surroundings’. If you share the thought or you would give it as a gift go to the STORE and buy one!

The new guy in our Café

Carlos_lowbudget_0228_2

From the beginning of February we have a new colleague who came from sunny Columbia to work with us in Café Design. Carlos Orozco is a 23 year old Colombian boy from Cali, the third biggest city of the South American country. Having almost finished his university studies – majored in industrial design he had one task left: spending a 6 months-long internship. During his last year’s stay in Europe he visited Hungary and learnt about Café Design. Interest of both parties met, so he is now spending his days working with us.

E3 Annual General Meeting in Budapest

E3_AGM_Hungary2011
The E3 European Agency Network holds its Annual General Meeting in Budapest this Spring. Café Design – as the Hungarian member agency – will host the 3 day-long conference. We are expecting guests from 24 agencies of 21 countries.

The presentations will walk around the changing world’s marketing challenges. The inherent potential of the new marketing channels and the freshly evolving marketing-segments will be on the air too. On the latter area the green marketing will be the leading subject.

Wines to China

Our old time friend and client called us with a challenging task the other day – as he usually does. He produces and bottles wines and now he decided he would start exporting to China.

So far it may seem an easy business.

But there was a basic linguistic or rather typeface problem needed to be solved through design. This was the first challenging part of the task: to design a line of labels that is international enough to be easily understood, recognized and remembered by people using a whole different set of signs than we do.

The second challenge was the deadline…

We had to come up with a complete brand strategy and identity from Friday to Monday and there was an additional 24 hours for the production works thus the sample collection could arrive to Hong Kong on Wednesday.

From the feedbacks from China it seems we succeeded with both challenges.

Taming Monsters

Listening

According to the client, an English teacher, many students are afraid of taking the intermediate English exam. Like this whole procedure was a nightmare full of monsters. Therefore when she wrote her four books on the four basic skills needed to pass the test she linked an image of friendly monsters to each skill.

Pick in perfect packaging

Pick4

When Pick Zrt. decided that it’s time to give a new packaging to its products the management asked for a design that holds together all items and reflects the values they hold.

The company has a wide range of products from sausages and frankfurters to salamis, from pates to sliced ones. They had graphic elements in common but needed a more direct and coherent connection to each other and to the main Pick brand.

Right at the beginning of the creative process we stated that it is important to respect all values connected to Pick and its products but at the same time we wanted to give it a modern touch. To fulfil these ideas we used Art Nouveau and wrought iron elements but tried to let the products speak for themselves, especially in case of ‘Téliszalámi’ the worldwide known premium salami of Hungary.

The new design brings the message of premium quality, traditional values and fine tastes.
To bring all products together we consciously created a coherent typography and depicted the oval logo on all packages. There is only one semi-exception to this idea, and it is the original ‘Téliszalámi’ on which the new oval logo remained in the original crest bounding as a tribute to traditional values.
