The 10 flavoured Pálinka

Soltvadkert in Hungary is a place rich in natural resources as tasty fruits of the fertile soil. So what's more convenient than bottling them and offer the market a fabulous new brand: Schiszler Pálinka, as our client cleverly did so.

Wines to China

Our old time friend and client called us with a challenging task the other day – as he usually does. He produces and bottles wines and now he decided he would start exporting to China.

So far it may seem an easy business.

But there was a basic linguistic or rather typeface problem needed to be solved through design. This was the first challenging part of the task: to design a line of labels that is international enough to be easily understood, recognized and remembered by people using a whole different set of signs than we do.

The second challenge was the deadline…

We had to come up with a complete brand strategy and identity from Friday to Monday and there was an additional 24 hours for the production works thus the sample collection could arrive to Hong Kong on Wednesday.

From the feedbacks from China it seems we succeeded with both challenges.

Borsodi posters

Borsodi-plakat-collect

We got an assignment from Borsodi the biggest Hungarian beer manufacturer that seemed just an ordinary assignment. The company sponsors a pub downtown and with the English owner they asked us to make some posters for them with the brands they are going to sell.

When we visited the place the task became a mission at once.
The whole pub was like being in America in the 1920’s and 50’s. This atmosphere and environment gave us a great deal of inspiration. We wanted posters that perfectly fit into this milieu, so we asked László Lovász from Royal Rocker Graphic Studio to draw some of our original ideas matching the pub’s atmosphere. László together with Péter Berki did a great job with the football series while the vintage looking Staropramen line is the creation of Tamás Veress.

Béres Immun Herbal

BIH

There were two routes in our head at the beginning of this project. One motive was to emphasize the herbal aspect of this product by Béres. There were many creatives with herbs but they faded away as the client decided that this creative concept is far too close to herbal remedies and teas.

So we went in the modern route keeping the brand’s rather serious medical identity by using the already familiar nonfigurative lines and waves. We managed to create a packaging that fits well in the already existing line of Béres OTC products.

Pick in perfect packaging

Pick4

When Pick Zrt. decided that it’s time to give a new packaging to its products the management asked for a design that holds together all items and reflects the values they hold.

The company has a wide range of products from sausages and frankfurters to salamis, from pates to sliced ones. They had graphic elements in common but needed a more direct and coherent connection to each other and to the main Pick brand.

Right at the beginning of the creative process we stated that it is important to respect all values connected to Pick and its products but at the same time we wanted to give it a modern touch. To fulfil these ideas we used Art Nouveau and wrought iron elements but tried to let the products speak for themselves, especially in case of ‘Téliszalámi’ the worldwide known premium salami of Hungary.

The new design brings the message of premium quality, traditional values and fine tastes.
To bring all products together we consciously created a coherent typography and depicted the oval logo on all packages. There is only one semi-exception to this idea, and it is the original ‘Téliszalámi’ on which the new oval logo remained in the original crest bounding as a tribute to traditional values.

We are Magical! …so they say

The Chinese publishing company, Designerbooks released its 2010 issue on packaging design: Magic Packaging. The editors collected the best pieces from around the world into a thick album. They divided the works into three categories: Delicious Magic, Intriguing Magic and Dizzying Magic. We are represented in all of these categories by six of our works altogether.

Delicious Magic: Maggi Hot Mug / Maggi Forró bögre

Intriguing Magic: Vodafone HSDPA Packaging

Dizzying Magic: Gyulai Pálinka, Ipacs Winery, Györök Winery and Royal Vodka

Now we would like to say thank you to all of our clients for trusting and entrusting us with such good tasks.

Boci packaging redesign

There are quite some novelties about our old favourite: Boci chocolate. There is more cocoa to it and there are bigger cubes to it and there are also new tastes to it.

And we wrapped these all in a new packaging design.
Our client, Nestlé Hungária Kft. asked us to somehow remain faithful to the 80 years of experience that is behind its product but at the same time focus on the renewal rather that being retro.

Our AD created a dynamic, colourful, modern design keeping certain elements from the former design but giving it a more accentuated illustration.

Györök Winery

The client started winery only a couple of years ago; this is not his main profession, rather a love of his life. The designer's task was to create a logo and packaging design for the first vintage to go on the market. An elegant label was expected that stands out from the average line of wine packaging design. The final creation is a cluster of grapes made of numbers and letters to achieve a design that defines the whole motivation behind the product.

Ipacs Winery

Ipacs Winery is a young, emerging, dynamic developing and already successful winery led by an ambitious owner.

Our task was to design the CI and the packaging for the winery. Neither the package-technology nor the budget of Ipacs can rival with the historic wineries. Thus the designer’s goal was to make advantage of the disadvantage. The quite unusual flag-like label was born thanks to this pressure. The label holds all important information so the tag on the bottle could concentrate exclusively on the branding.
